MANSFIELD - THELMA RICE, 71, of Mansfield, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at MedCentral/ Mansfield Hospital.

Born November 25, 1934, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Ulysses S. and Rebecca Hall Henderson. She attended Lincoln Heights Baptist Church, where she fulfilled an important relationship with God.

Thelma was a loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin C. Rice; three sons, Marvin (Brenda) Rice, Randy Rice and Freddie Rice; daughter, Tabatha (Kenneth) Berry; seven grandchildren, Tom (Stephanie) Rice, Samantha Rice, Sabrina (Brook) Adkins, Jason (Shannon) Ward, Amber (Mark) Osbourne, Brook (Jared) Harding, and Chad Berry; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Butler and Cledith McCleese; and three brothers, Herbert, Ernest and Fred Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Willie Alan, Ollie and Artis Henderson; and grandson, Michael Berry.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Mike Wilson. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
