Frank Sutton, born near Baldwin, Kansas, July 29, 1868, at the age of 79 years, 1 month, 2 days, passed away at his home in Melvern, Kansas, September 1, 1947, after a lingering illness.
On November 8, 1888, he was united in marriage to May Fine. To this union one son and one daughter were born. He spent the major part of his life in the Maxon community and moved to Melvern four years ago.
The surviving are, his wife, Mrs. May Sutton, a son, Grant E. Sutton of Cleburne, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Yockey of Melvern; four grandchildren - May Virginia and Eldon Sutton of Bryan, Texas, Dorothy Nell McMillan of Cleburne, Texas and Frank Edward Yockey of Winslow, Arizona, and one great grandchild, Carolyn Sue Yockey of Osage City, Kansas; and one sister Mrs. Minnie Sutton of Wiley, Colorado, and two brothers, John S. Sutton and Joe Sutton of Melvern; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted in Melvern Methodist church by pastor A. C Stewart, assisted by Rev. Sophia Mae Fluke, and interment was made in Sutton Cemetery. Music was by De Etta Neal accompanist, Mrs. Ruth Gorman and Mrs. Dorothy Alley and Warren Streit. The Pallbearers were - Sidney Kitt, John Plowman, F.G. Rice, Tom McDonnell, Roy Sutton and Arvil Correll.
