ASHEVILLE - Mrs. Villa Ilene Conrad, 82, formerly of East Bend passed away Monday, April 29, 2002, after an extended illness at Memorial Mission Hospital, Asheville.

She was the wife of the late Berton Conrad Sr.

Mrs. Conrad was born April 22, 1920, to Perry Green and Dessie Goldie Stout in Braxton County, W.Va.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by five daughters, Peggye A. Allen of North Myers, Fla., Janet R. Hannah of Pfafftown, Jo Worley of Fletcher, Brenda J. Hind of Horse Shoe and Vickie L. Conrad of East Bend; many, many special grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Perry G. Stout Jr. of Clarksburg, W.Va.

Mrs. Conrad was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two daughters, Linda A. Moslow and Elsie Day Conrad.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Huff Funeral Home Chapel, East Bend, conducted by the Rev. J. Dwight Cartner and her grandson, Michael Worley. The body will lie in state from 10:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park, Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, April 30, 2002, at the funeral home.
