Former Idalou Resident Dies
J. W. Clark, 92, former resident of Idalou and resident of Gunter six years, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Gunter.
A retired farmer, Clark lived in Idalou 35 years before moving to Gunter in 1959. He was for many years an elder in the Church of Christ in Idalou and was active in Church of Christ work in Gunter.
Services are set for 4 p.m. Monday in the Idalou Church of Christ with Cline Drake, former minister, officiating.
Burial will be in the Idalou Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock.
Survivors are four sons: U. U. Clark, 2806 23rd St. Lubbock, Texas; Otis Clark, Stanley, New Mexico; L. W. Clark, Roswell,New Mexico; and C. W.Clark, Yuma, Arizona; a brother, Dr. O. P. Clark, Abilene, TX; three sisters: Mrs. Fannie Kenney, Stephenville, TX; Mrs. Edna Childress, Houston, TX; and Mrs. Bessie Hicks, Abilene, TX; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
