He was born Wednesday, April 21, 1954, in Richwood. He was a mill operator for Coal Fillers, Bluefield, Va., and was of the Protestant faith. He was a former resident of Bluefield, Va., and was an avid racing enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse W. Cogar.
He is survived by his sisters, Linda (James) Morello of Upperglade, Janet House of Webster Springs; brothers, Roger L. (Dolly) Cogar of Bastian, Va., Ronald F. (Gail) Cogar of Bluefield, Va., Raymond L. (Doris) Cogar of North Tazewell, Va., and Jesse L. (Jennifer) Cogar of Troutman, Va.; mother, Voila Greene Cogar of Bolair; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Williams of Camden in Gauley officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Run Cemetery, Gauley River Rd., Bolair. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
