He was born Aug.4,1890 in Hodgeman county. He farmed in Hodgeman county until 1946 when he moved to Dodge City. He was retired.
He served on the Pleasant View School Board in Hodgeman County for several years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dodge City.
Survivors include his widow, Alvina T. Schlereth of the home, two daughters, Ruth Sprott of Jetmore and Florence Marque of Great Gend,KS.; two sons, F.A."Alfred" Schlereth and Curtis Schlereth of Dodge City; brother, Mike of Jetmore, two sisters, Lena Haffey of Okeene,Oklahoma and Mary Stapleton of Dodge City,KS. and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. J.J. Grellner officiating.
