Sadie accepted Christ at a young age. She relocated to Chicago, IL and married Claude Alexander Sr. and gave birth to five children. Years later she moved to Joliet, IL where she was employed by Almax Aluminum Company and retired from Tinley Park Mental Health Care Facility. Sadie and her children attended St. Paul M.B. Church. Before Sadie moved back to Memphis, TN she was a member of Friendship Church.
Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Willie Sid Vasser.
Sadie leaves to cherish her remarkable memories three sons, Kenneth (Julia) Alexander of Joliet, IL, Claude Alexander Jr. of Chicago, IL, and Fabain (Dorothy) Alexander of Joliet, IL; two daughters, Mary (Tyrone) Duckworth of Memphis, TN and Pamela (Leonard) Alexander of Joliet, IL; two sisters, Mary Gadsden and Gussie Brown of Memphis, TN; very special cousin, Isaiah (Queen Ester) Dickerson of Joliet, IL; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation Friday, February 1, 2008, 2-4 pm at the funeral home and 6 pm at Mt. Ebal M.B. Church, 221 Cameron Dr., Lockport, IL. Service at 7 pm, Pastor Cornell Ervins officiating. Interment Saturday, February 2, 2008, 10 am at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL. MINOR-MORRIS FUNERAL HOME
