She was born March 17, 1916 in Rocksprings, Texas to Iva and Leo Vernon McCaleb Sr.
Genevieve was a teacher for 38 years at the Leakey ISD after earning her degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and volunteered at the Frio Canyon E.M.S., Real County Public Library and numerous other organizations.
She was preceded in death by parents, Leo and Iva McCaleb; husband, James Trees; sisters, Cleo, Vivian and brothers, Leo Jr. and Herbert.
She is survived by her son James Trees and wife Pasty; grandchildren, Carolyn Earles and husband J. R.; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, James Logan, Darby; brother, Carroll McCaleb and wife Cindy; sister-in-laws, Eileen McCaleb, Ouida McCaleb and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers, Scooter McCaleb, Larry McCaleb, Dwayne McCaleb, Chuck McCaleb, Roger Simecek and Butch Weston.

Services 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Frio Canyon Baptist Church in Leakey. Brother Dean Burleigh will be officiating and interment will follow in the Leakey Floral Cemetery.
