Alvin M. Pearson, age 76, of Ellsworth died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at the River Falls Area Hospital.
He was born Dec. 28, 1922, in the Town of Wacota, Goodhue County, Minn., the son of A. Walter and Minnie M. (Rundquist) Pearson.
He moved to Ellsworth with his parents at age seven. He farmed most all of his life in Ellsworth Township.
He married Arlene P. Peterson Nov. 26, 1949, in Ellsworth. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.
He managed the Ellsworth Credit Union for many years. He served as sexton of the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery and was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Ellsworth Farmers Union and NFO. He loved his family and his farm.
He is survived by: his wife of Ellsworth; five children, Kenneth (Bonnie) Pearson, Waverly, Tenn., James Pearson, Ellsworth, Diane Pehrsson, Bend, Ore., Rick (Joni) Pearson, Elk River, Minn., Terry (Sue) Pearson, Rosemount, Minn.; six grandchildren, Greg, Jennifer, Jason, Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Jillian Pearson; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Maria Pearson; one sister and three brothers, Florence Howe, Tucson, Ariz., Carl (Joyce) Pearson, Ellsworth, Arthur (Gerry) Pearson, Prescott, Ariz., Donald (Sandie) Pearson, Red Wing. He is further survived by: nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with Rev. Carol Peterson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
