Peter resided in Frederick, MD for more than 40 years. In 1928, he married the former Lila Ward Koonce and together they had one daughter, Lila Ward Chichester Wenner.
He served as County Agricultural Agent and then as Vice President of Dietrich and Gambrill, Inc., until his retirement in 1963. He was a World War I veteran, having served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Peter was a graduate of the University of Maryland and for one term was a member of the University's Board of Regents. Additionally, he served for many years as Director of the American Feed Manufacturers Association and was a member of the Frederick Kiwanis Club. He was also a member and former Vestryman of All Saints Episcopal Church.
