Robert William VanderHoff, 86, died at 1:42 AM Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, in Regency Place, Lafayette. Born July 31, 1912, at Grand Rapids, MI, he moved to Lafayette in 1959. He was a graduate of Remington Rand College of New York City. In 1934, he married Ardis Evalina Barnaby at Caledonia, MI; she survives.

Mr. VanderHoff was vice president of sales operations at Schwab Safe Company for 20 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 492, Scottish Rite, and he was past president of Eagles Lodge 347.

Surviving with his wife are four sons, Robert L. VanderHoff of Pine Village, Kenneth W. VanderHoff, Terry R. VanderHoff, both of Lafayette, and James L. VanderHoff of Montgomery, AL; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
