Gerhart Wilkie, 87, Rolla, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 1994, in Presentation Medical Center, Rolla.

Gerhart E. Wilkie was born Feb. 15, 1907, in Oxford Township, Rollette County, N.D., the son of Paul and Lizzie (Timmerman) Wilkie. He attended rural schools and married Ena MacKay June 19, 1938, in Rolla. They farmed in Oxford Township and moved to Rolla in 1960. He served on various boards, including the school board and executive committee of the district Democratic Party and was an alternate delegate to the 1975 National Democratic Convention in New York City. He served in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 1957 to 1977 and was chairman of the House Agricultural Committee in 1965.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Gerry, Rolla, and Tom, Aberdeen, S.D. daughters, Margo (Mrs. Rodney) Kaleva, and Shirley (Mrs. Barry) Dunn, both of Olympia. Wash, 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a niece, Ann Mackay, Olympia, who lived with the family, and sisters, Lillian (Mrs. A.M.) Julseth, Dakota, N.D., and Eileen (Mrs. George) Kaczor, Seattle.

He was preceded in death by sisters. Esther LaFrance and Lorna Jolliffe, brothers, Arnold and Elmer, and a half brother, Albert Gattke.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rolla.

Visitation: 6:30 to 8 p.m. today in Niewoehner Funeral Home, Rolla, and the hour before services in church Memorials are suggested to Mount Pleasant School District Foundation.

Burial: Rolla Cemetery.
