It reported that "Delene Reid Norton, 93, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at a Lubbock hospital.
Graveside service: at a later date under the direction of Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel of Fort Worth. Cremation was provided by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Delene was born Nov. 12, 1910, to Claude Felix and Emma Jean Norsworthy Reid in Clyde. She graduated from Clyde High School and Texas Tech University.
Delene married Obie W. Norton on July 12, 1938. He preceded her in death in July 1975.
Delene was very active in Altrusa and St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, where she lived for 40 years. Delene taught homemaking at various Texas high schools. She moved to Lubbock in 1988.
Delene was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Survivors: Numerous nieces and nephews."
