Death of Mrs. Ernest Spilker
Mrs. Ernest Spilker of near Daykin, Nebr., died Thursday, July 30, 1959, at the age of 42 years, 6 months and 6 days. She was found Thursday morning drowned in a farm pond near her home. She had left a note saying she was going to take a swim.
Selma Ann Rohr, daughter of Christian and Marie Niederklein Rohr, was born Dec. 24, 1916, on a farm near Tobias, Nebr.
On June 11, 1939, she was married at Zion Lutheran church of Tobias, to Ernest Spilker. The couple made their home on a farm southeast of Daykin. To them three children were born.
She was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran church near Tobias by Rev. W. G. Nau on March 29, 1931.
Preceding her in death were her father, Christian Rohr, and a brother, Henry Rohr.
Surviving are her husband, Ernest Spilker and three children, Marilyn, Robert and Norma Jean; mother, Mrs. Mary Rohr; four sisters, Mrs. Carl Endorf and Mrs. Wm. Endorf of Tobias, Mrs. Lorenz Bartels of Western and Mrs. Loren Kugel of Powll; and two brothers, Herman Rohr and Vitor Rohr, both of Tobias.
Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church in Daykin with the pastor, Rev. Donald Kumpf, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
