Tessie Rossini, 96, of San Luis Obispo died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1987 in a San Luis Obispo hospital.

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in San Luis Obispo. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the same church. The Rev. Mike Cicinato will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Mary Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in San Luis Obispo.

Mrs. Rossini was born Nov. 13, 1890, in Riverside, where she was raised and educated. She was a professional singer and sang for the Riverside Mission and the Fox Theatre. She also sang opera with a traveling group and with a night club in Vallejo. She had been an artist, painting landscapes, figures and still life. She married in 1952 and moved to San Luis Obispo in 1960. She was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, the Nativity of Our Lady Church and the San Luis Obispo Association.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Rossini; and one sister, Lillian D. Castillo, both of San Luis Obispo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
