Mr. Daniel W. Locke, Jr., age 82 of Plano, Illinois (formerly of McMinnville, TN), died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in Naperville, IL. He was born February 28, 1931, in Warren County, TN, was an All-Star Basketball player while in McMinnville, a 35 year employee of Caterpillar, an avid fisherman, and reader. Mr. Locke was preceded in death by parents Daniel W. and Mabel Sellars Locke, Sr., a sister Sally Cope, and brothers Aubrey and Howard Locke.
Survivors include his wife Susan Allen Locke, Plano, IL, twin daughters Pam (Tom) Wood, Aurora, IL, and Tami Seperack, Oswego, IL, granddaughter Alyssa Seperack, Oswego, IL, grandsons Alec Seperack, Oswego, IL, Zachary Wood and Nicklaus Wood both of Aurora, IL, sisters Nelda Turner, Chattanooga, TN, and Lavern Ours, McMinnville, TN, and brother Carl (Linda) Locke, Snellville, GA. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. (CDT) Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Nick Pelham will officiate. Interment will follow at Charles Creek Cemetery. The Locke Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again Wednesday, August 14, 2013, from 9 A.M. until 10 A.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
