WIGGINS, Elijah Q. (Sarge) 77, went home to be with the Lord, Feb. 11, 2013. Elijah was born in Spring City TN., May 10, 1935. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Arther and Grace Wiggins. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary, formerly of Corbin, KY; 3 stepsons, E.L. Petrey Jr., David Petrey and Alan Petrey, all from Kentucky; grandchildren, Laura, Cassi, David Jr., Alyssa, Michael, Lauren and Jennifer; 1 great-grandchild, Anastasia. Survivors also include his family from Spring City; his brother, Bill Wiggins; sisters, Cora Ann Fugate and Susie Stalvey; and brothers-in-law, Bruce and Robert respectively; several nieces and nephews from the Spring City area; 2 brothers-in-law from Corbin, KY include Tommy Adkins & Luther Adkins and two daughters-in-law, Dianne Petrey of Jellico, TN and Paula Petrey of Pikeville KY. Elijah was a 20 year retired 1st Sargent Veteran with the United States Army. He served three tours of duty during his career, one in Korea and two in Vietnam. After retiring he was trained by Mr. Heck as a generator technician. In 1979, Elijah, his wife, and two stepsons moved to Tampa to continue work as a generator technician for Tampa Armature Works for which he retired in 2000. Elijah had many friends and co-workers over the years which include Jim (R.I.P. 2007) Gladys and their son, Frank Sanns, Jim Little, Lou Pirez, Nadine Barger, and many more.
