Naugatuck, CT - Ruth J. (Wright) Euglow, 79 of Naugatuck, died Friday April 26, at home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Euglow was born August 25, 1922 in Bristol, CT, the daughter of the late Walter and Jeanette (Locke) Wright. She was raised in Winsted. She moved to Colebrook when she married her husband of 55 years Edward L. Euglow. In 1976, they retired to Hampstead, NC, where they made their home for 25 years. Mrs. Euglow was active in her community, mostly as a dispatcher for the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Dept., and Hampstead Volunteer Rescue Squad. She also enjoyed the outdoors, especially bird watching with Hummingbirds and Cardinals her favorites. They returned to live in Connecticut in 1999.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Edward L. Euglow; three sons Russell Euglow of Colebrook, CT, Carl Euglow of Aurora, CO, and Ronnie Euglow of Thomaston, CT, and a daughter Ellen Granoth of Naugatuck with whom she made her home. She also leaves behind a sister, Edith Jones of Winsted, CT, nineteen grandchildren, thirty one great grand children, and three great- great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul and Walter Wright and sister Hazel Dickey. She was also predeceased by two sons, Edward L. Euglow Jr. and John B. Euglow.
