William was the son of Stephen L Peck (1789 - 1868) and Prudence Lewis Peck (1798 - 1880).

William married Rosabelle Foss on March 9, 1857 in Worthington, Franklin County, Ohio and had three children who were:
Henrietta Peck Brady.
Emma Peck Woods.
William A. Peck.

William served during the Civil War as the commander of Company C, 113th Ohio Infantry. William is the great grandson of a Revolutionary War Veteran similarily named William Peck.

William was admitted to the hospital in Miami Arizona on January 20, 1918 and remained there until his passing.
