Local Residents Attend Funeral Of Frederick Aunt
Services for Mrs. L.L. Kilgore, wife of the Tillman county sheriff and aunt of Mrs. Rudell Taylor and Pete Rife, Carnegie, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist church in Frederick, Rev. Milo B. Arbuckle of Lamesa, Texas, and Rev. John B. Shelton, pastor of the Frederick Baptist church officiated.
Mrs. Kilgore, 57, was owner and operator of a dress shop in Frederick for many years until a few months ago when she retired from active management. She died Sunday, February 21, at a Frederick hospital after a prolonged illness. The Kilgores were residents of Tipton before moving to Frederick.
A native of Kentucky, Ida Lee Blair was born August 5, 1902, the daughter of Jess and Jennie Blair. She was married to Louie L. Kilgore at Wichita Falls on February 4, 1920. She was a sister of the late Mrs. O.H. Rife, Carnegie.
Survivors include the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Watson, Uvalde, Tex., Mrs. Jeannette Crowell, Comanche, and Mrs. Mary Helen Bagwell, Frederick; a son, Billy Joe Kilgore, Wichita Falls; two brothers, Frank Blair, Frederick, and Wade Blair of Kentucky; three sisters, Mrs. Mose Lewis, Hollister, Mrs. C.O. Thomas, Ralls, Tex., and Mrs. Stella Young, Dallas; and eight grandchildren.
Attending the services were O.H. Riffe, Mr. and Mrs. Rudell Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Riffe, of Carnegie; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Riffe, Oklahoma City, Laverne Riffe, Tulsa, Mrs. Hugh Clay, Okmulgee, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Riffe, Garland, Texas.
