SANDRA LEE GRIGGS BRYANT
April 19, 1948 - July 28, 2013

SANDRA LEE GRIGGS BRYANT, Age 64, a resident of St. Charles, MO, and formerly of Charleston, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the SS St. Clare Health System in Fenton, MO.

Born April 19, 1949, at Cairo, IL, to the late Robert Lee and Emma Jean Thomasson Griggs, she was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau with a Master's Degree in Secondary Administration. Having lived in Charleston a number of years, she was employed by the Charleston R-1 School District from 1986 until 2002. During those years she taught Middle School Social Studies, coached basketball and was a M.A.P. Leader. In 2002, she moved to St. Louis and took the position at Riverview Gardens High School as Assistant Principal, where she served in that capacity until her retirement in 2009. She was a member of the MSTA.

Surviving is one daughter, Kimberlee Jean Julian of Barnhart, MO; three brothers, Thomas Melton of Denver, CO; Robert Griggs, Jr., of St. Charles and Robbie Griggs of Durham, England; three grandchildren, Alexander Thomas Julian, Aidan Taylor Julian and Emma Rose Julian.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2013. Rev. Mike McKinney, pastor of the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston, will officiate. Mrs. Chris Smith-Hart, will offer a eulogy.

Interment will follow in the Smith-Griggs Cemetery near Wyatt under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
