There will be a funeral service 11 AM Monday at the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge for Margie J. Pugh, who passed away Thursday morning at the home of her daughter. Margie was born June 15, 1927 in Mineral Ridge a daughter of the late Andrew and Edna (Vandergrift) Bickerstaff. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge where she had served as Deacon and Elder. She retired in 1986 as a cook from the Mineral Ridge Schools after 15 years. Margie was a member of the Mineral Ridge Fireman's Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed ceramics and high school sports. Her husband David A. Pugh, whom she married January 11, 1947, passed away in 1983. Margie is survived by six children: Mary Jane Shaffer, David (Nancy) Pugh, William (Eva) Pugh, Randall (Bridgett) Pugh all of Mineral Ridge, Gladys (Danny) Jones of St. Petersburg, FL, and Gary (Laurie) Pugh of Austintown; three sisters: Susan Costa of Columbus, Mary Ann Gobel of Columbus and Marilyn Whiting of Jefferson; two brothers: Paul Bickerstaff of Niles and Robert Elliot of Atlanta, GA; sixteen grandchildren: Rebecca, Jill, Joseph, Danielle, Charles, Brian, Matthew, Donald, Emily, Heather, David, Carly, Nathan, Jonathan, Anthony, and Alexandra; and fifteen great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge in Margie's name. Friends may call from 2 PM until 5 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel and from 10 AM until 11 AM Monday at the church.
