Bert Douglas Verducci
August 25, 1943 - November 5, 2011

Bert Douglas Verducci, 68, born in Fairfield, Calif., passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, after years battling cancer and other ailments.

He is survived by his wife, Luz Verducci; daughters, Brandy Verducci and Kim Carelli; son-in-law, Dave Carelli; grandsons, Nick and Noah Carelli; brothers, Fred and Tony Verducci; sister, Suzie Robins; and dogs Snoopy, Brenda, Tinkerbell, and Princess.

After high school, Doug served in the Navy and then, periodically, in the Merchant Marines for over 30 years, traveling the world. He lived in many cities, everywhere between San Jose, Calif. to Ukiah, Calif. and even the Philippine islands — all while maintaining his vigor for life by keeping busy working on project after project, fishing, and spending time with friends, family and his dogs. Skilled to create anything out of metal or wood, Doug was always happy to help a friend fix something and construct new projects of his own.

In Doug's final days, his family and close friends surrounded him as he made his transition to the next journey of his life. Friends are invited to attend visitation and services from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 at Bryan-Baker Funeral Home, 1850 West Texas St. Fairfield, CA 94533.
