RAINES Robert Harold Raines, Sr., 78, son of Benjamin Boatwright Raines, Sr. & Sallie Dabbs Raines, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 4, 2002.

Mr. Raines was an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 7, with Rev. Anthony Rister, Rev. Raymond Mixon and Rev. Robert Lawrence, officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park.

Mr. Raines was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy; was in the trucking business for over 33 years, being employed with RC Motor Lines & retiring from Consolidated Freightways; and was a member of Teamsters Local 512 Retiree Club.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mildred Odessa Raines, 3 daughters: Sarah Belinda Harrell, Kimberly Perkins & Lynn (Tim) Perkins; 1 son, Robert H. Raines, Jr.; 2 sisters: Katherine Rawls & Esther Mallard; 1 brother, Bennie B. Raines, Jr.; 8 grandchildren: Chad, Tracy, Melissa, Ashley, Jodi, Kenny, Ben & Kyle; several nieces & nephews; and many loving friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday (TODAY) at COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1426 Rowe Ave.
