Jonnie S. Gillis, age 89, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Gillis was born on November 12, 1923, in Homerville, GA to the late James Ransom Smith and Sallie Mae Meeks Smith.

Survivors include: her four daughters, Patricia (Melvin) Gerhard of Panama City, FL; Beth Bridges of Douglas, GA; Donna (Kenny) Powell of Douglas, GA and Janis (Marty) Bisanar of Kings Mountain, NC; son-in law, Bobby Bridges of Douglas, GA; sister, Vera Fuller of San Andreas, CA. eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Don E. Gillis.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating and Nathan Lingenfelter giving the Eulogy. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in /Waycross with a private Family Burial.

Sims Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
