He was a carpenter and resident of Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard (Dukes Co.), MA. He held the rank of lieutenant, later captain, in the Edgartown militia. He removed to Bristol, RI, ca. 1685, but returned to Martha's Vineyard, 1689-91.
