Mary Ann was the daughter of Confederate General James Edward Harrison and wife Mary Ann Evans. She married first to Albert Galiton Bedwell on 24 Nov. 1873 in McLennan County, Texas. The couple had two children: William Dawson Bedwell who died as an infant and Richard Harrison Bedwell (1875-1947). Ab, as he was known, died young. Mary next married Rufus G. Darwin sometime in 1877 in McLennan County. It is presumed that the couple may have divorced. Mary next married William H. Abbott, Confederate veteran (1842-1912).
