Elizabeth was the fifth of eight known children born to Joseph Alexander McReynolds (1827-1911) and his first wife, Latisha “Narcissa” Dickson (1834-1875). In 1887, she was married to John Murray Arnold and became his first wife. Together, they had one child, a daughter named Callie Armelda Arnold (1889-1985).
