Age 87, the son of the late Hubert B. Baskin and the late May Wood Baskin.

He lived most of his lifetime in this area and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for more than thirty-five years for Lockheed Aircraft as the procurement & engineering supervisor and retired with thirty years of service. He returned to the work force at Lockheed for almost six more years before he decided to retire for good. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lee Baskin, one sister, Sarah Baskin (one month old), two brothers, Eldred Baskin (died in a bombing mission over France in 1944) and Wayman Baskin, and a brother-in-law, Harris McElroy.

Survivors include his children, Johnny Baskin and his wife, Jennifer, of Carrollton and Marsha Baskin Wright and her husband, George, of Gainesville; three sisters, Mildred McElroy of Carrollton, Ann Matthews and her husband, Bing, of Villa Rica and Charis Estes and her husband, Calvin, of Temple; five grandchildren, Don O'Shields of Ohio, Cynthia Daniel of Carrollton, Stephanie McLaughlin and her husband, Justin, of Bethleham, Tyler Wright and his wife, Lisa, of Roswell and Justin Wise of Griffin; five great grandchildren, Madison Bice, Mayla Daniel, Kacie Daniel, Abby McLaughlin and Ty Wright; and a number of nieces and nephews.
