Raymond Delbert Kincheloe , 84, of Marion, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion, by Pastor Dennis Johnson. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Irene; children; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister; and many friends {names omitted for privacy}.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Raymond was born June 29, 1927, in Redfield, S.D., the son of Delbert and Hattie (Myers) Kincheloe . He graduated from Ames High School in 1945. After high school, Raymond served in the Navy until the end of World War II. He then attended Iowa State University, where he graduated with a B.S. in 1952. Following college, Raymond moved to Akron, Ohio, where he met Irene Moskovis. They were married Feb. 28, 1953. In 1962, Raymond and Irene moved to Iowa, where he worked at Collins Radio until his retirement in 1986.
Raymond was a Cub Scout leader, and an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion.
He loved to golf and ride his bike and participated in many years in RAGBRAI.
