CHEBOYGAN - Erma L. O'Grady, 88, of Cheboygan, passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2005 at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital, Extended Care Unit. A lifelong resident of Cheboygan, Erma was born June 12, 1916 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Harrison and Ida (Charboneau) Enos. In 1934 (sic. 1935) in Cheboygan, she married Frank O'Grady, who preceded her in death in 1963. Erma was a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church, and enjoyed flower gardening and bingo.
Surviving are her daughter, Deanna (Russell) Whittaker of Cheboygan; three sons, Allen (Ruth) O'Grady of Rochester, Mich., and twin sons Darrell (Cathy) O'Grady of Cheboygan and Jerry (Shirley) O'Grady of Cheboygan; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie "Marvel" Enos of Cheboygan; two brothers, Norman (Frieda) Enos of Harrison, Mich., and Robert (Marion) Enos of Cheboygan; a daughter-in-law, Vi O'Grady of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank; a son Melvin; a sister Sybil Bales; and three brothers, Leo, Albin, and Clarence Enos.
A memorial Mass will be announced in the spring at St. Mary/Charles Catholic Church; burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice House, or Cheboygan Memorial Hospital, Extended Care Unit (Larson Hall). The Christian Funeral Home of Cheboygan is assisting the family with the arrangements.
