Robert was born the son of Gid and Deanie Rogers. Robert is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dixie L. Nickerson Carnley who died in 1995; and his grandson, Robert Zettel.

Robert served his country during WWII in the US Army, serving in the Pacific Theater even earning a purple heart.

He was a Deacon in the Baptist Church, and retired as a Gradall operator for the city of Houston.

Robert loved fishing, but enjoyed helping people even more. A loving family man, he spent much time with them, especially coordinating family reunions.
