ROCK HILL Mr. Fletcher Brown Beck, 83, passed away on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at his home.
The funeral will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Catawba Ward. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Beck was the son of the late Fletcher John Beck and the late Sallie Brown Beck. He was a very proud U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing with over 45 years of service and was president of the Local 710 Union. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Catawba Ward and also a member of the Catawba Tribe and the tribe baseball team. Buck was a loving father and grandfather who always put others first. He was the widower of Gwendolyn Parks Beck and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Dianna Marthers; his brothers, Samuel John Beck and Eugene Beck; and his sister, Ethel Warner.

Surviving are his son, Mitch Beck and his wife, Melodie, of Rock Hill; his daughters, Angela Beck Varnadore and her husband, Tim, of Rock Hill and Deborah Beck Mason of Clover; his sisters, Rachel Beck Yates and her husband, John, of Columbia and Irene Garcia of Pueblo, Colo.; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his very dear friend, Doris Yesersky of Rock Hill.
