While in Washington, Mrs. Ayrey worked for the Warner Brothers Theaters. After her move to Dover, she served as secretary to the clerk of the Delaware Supreme Court until her retirement in 1988.
She enjoyed playing the piano, listening to the music of Tony Bennett as well as gardening and cooking.
Mrs. Ayrey was a faithful member of the Church of the Holy Cross in Dover and had served as volunteer with various state court systems following her retirement.
