J.F. Davis, well known in Cameron and in Milam County, where he lived for twenty years before moving west in 1902, died in Valera, Texas, Sunday, February 3 and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cameron, Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The body was carried from the home of his grandson, Dewey Hightower, to the Baptist church where Rev. E.S. Hutcherson, conducted the funeral service. A large number of friends attended this service and the burial service at the grave which was in charge of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Davis is survived by two sons, J.W. Davis of Valera, and Frank M. Davis of Poteau, Okla., and two daughters, Mrs. L.B. Lumpkin of Mart and Mrs. G.T. Hightower of Cameron, all well known here. Mrs. Davis was buried here last April.
