Stephen was the first child of Andrew and Anna Tetzloff Fralka, who were the parents of eight children. He lived his whole life, 69 years, in Ashland. He married Anna C. Bonk in 1926 and they were the parents of one child, Eugene of Madison, Wisconsin. He retired as switch foreman for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad after 38 years of railroading. He served in World War I and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
