William F Cook married Maggie Lura Stanford on 4 May 1910, in Davidson County, TN.

He was convicted of second degree murder in the deaths of his wife Maggie and her niece Lucy at their home on the night of 25 Aug 1913. Some journals also reported his execution in 1913, but those reports were in error. He was re-tried for Lucy's death as late as 1920, and released from prison after pardon.
