David W. Stokum, Sr. 83, Export RD1, died in his home at 7:40 yesterday morning. The son of the late Jacob D. and Elizabeth Hill Stokum was born December 5, 1877 in his present home. He was a retired coal miner and member of the Hills United Church Of Christ. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Velva Uncapher Stokum and the following children: Mrs. Walter (Ellen) Hice, Ralph, Henry and David Jr. all of Export; Mrs. Robert (Florence) Baughman, Jeannette; Russell, Chicopee Falls Massachusetts; Mrs. John (Thelma) Royston, Charleston SC. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Floyd, Export and three sisters Mrs. Lydia Baird, Saltsburg; Mrs. Elizabeth Stover and Mrs. Frank (Tressa) Schake both of Export. Friends will be received at the AB Earnest and Son Funeral Home in Export until 1 pm Wednesday. The body will then be taken to the Hills United Church Of Christ where it will lie in state until 2 pm when services will be conducted by his pastor Robert C. Steele. Internment will follow in the Hills Church Cemetery, Export, PA
