Cecil Ray Housley, 72, of Dayton died on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at his home.

He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was retired from Boilermakers Union 453 in Knoxville and was a 32nd degree Mason, Dayton Lodge 512 F&AM.

He lived in the Frazier community for many years and loved horse-back riding and farming.

Cecil was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Kyle Housley; a son, Nathan Housley; an infant child, Edward Housley; brothers and sisters, Allie Shaver, Earl, James, Bertie and Darvin Housley and Flowie Arnold.

Survivors include three daughters, Juretta (Walter) Hale, Sandi (Robert) Davidson, and Renee (Tommy) Shook, all of Dayton; a special companion, Francis May of Dayton; brothers and sisters, Johnny, Broyles and Jessee Housley, all of Dayton, Alma Pearl of Greensboro, N.C., and Mary Housley of Dayton; six grandchildren, Nickolaus Housley, Valerie Hale, Aaron Davidson, Amanda Davidson, Chris Shook and Felicia Shook; two great-grandchildren, Kendra and Mystigue Housley, several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home. The Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiated.

Interment was in Spence Cemetery, where a graveside Masonic service was also held.

Visitation was after noon on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.
