Private funeral services for Robert Bryan Bowling, 85, of Cookeville were conducted with Military Honors on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from the chapel of Presley Funeral Home.

Mr. Bowling passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center having lost his battle with cancer but never losing his spirit or his determination.

Bob Bowling was more affectionately known to his family as "Chib".

Chib was born January 25, 1928 in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia to Leslie and Ermintrude Bowling.

Robert Bowling is a Vietnam Veteran and is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. He was given full military honors for having served his country faithfully for over 37 years, retiring from active duty in the US Army in 1971.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Liliana, and four children, Bryan, Betty, Peter and Larry. He will be sorely missed by his grandchildren; Robert, Nichole, Tyler, Victoria, Benjamin, Becky, Stephen, Aaron, Bethany, Andrew, Erik, Emma and Andrea; and his great grandchildren, Justin, Ashliegh, David, Faith, Cadence, Jessica, Melissa, Roselyn and Vivienne. He is also survived by his brother, Dale Bowling and his wife, Nonna.
