A funeral for Hozmer B. Wright, 79, a retired civil engineer who specialized in bridge construction, was held Monday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial was in Forest Lawn. Wright, who moved to the Buffalo area from Upper St. Clair, Pa., last July, died Saturday (Jan. 26, 1991) in his Williamsville home.

He worked on the construction of the Sunshine State Parkway and other interstate roadway projects in Florida. He retired from Mackin Engineering Co. in Pittsburgh in 1982.

Born in Larned, Kan., he was a 1935 graduate of the University of Michigan. He first worked for Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff, a consulting engineering business. Wright was a World War II veteran of the Army Signal Corps. He served in the United States as well as the China-Burma-India theater. He was a colonel when discharged in 1946.

Wright was a Presbyterian elder in Upper St. Clair and in Orlando, Fla., until the mid-1970s.

Survivors include his wife, the former Elizabeth Morgan; a daughter, Nina R. Wright; a son, Barry of Grand Ledge, Mich., and four grandchildren.
