Dorothy June Dickinson, 95, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Friendship Village Pavilion of natural causes.
She was born July 11, 1918 in Waterloo the daughter of Alton V. and Olive A. Crinklaw Sackett. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1936. She married Ernest H. Dickinson on August 28, 1941 in Cedar Falls; he preceded her in death on December 16, 1991.
She and her husband owned and operated Iowa Door Closer and Lock Repair Service from 1965 until their retirement in 1983. She was a proud member of the Kit and Caboodle Band.
Survived by: two daughters, Betty (Ron) Morrison of La Porte City, Vera Brown of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Kevin (Leah) Morrison of Eagle Grove, Sandy (Keith) Bushman of Denver, CO, Melissa (Chad) Purdy of La Porte City, Steve (Lupe) Brown of Delphi, IN; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Marion Ackerman of Dewar.
Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one sister, Alta Schwake; a brother-in-law, Ray Ackerman and a son-in-law, Frank Brown.
Services: will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Garden View Chapel with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the chapel.
