Clara Was born May 17, 1896 in Union, Miami county, Ohio. She had three brothers, Cloy Elmer, Quinten and Paul and was the only daughter of Elmer and Lily Bridenbaugh. She married Charles William Cox. They had three children: Charles William Jr., Dorothy Ann Cox Wood and Betty Jean Cox Foster.

Clara and Charles were charter members of the Littleton Gem and Mineral club.

Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
