Arthur was born Feb 27, 1920 in Edgewood, Van Zandt Co., TX to Grady Leroy and Lilla Dee ELLIS LUCE . "Buck" married Hettie Marjorie (Donegan) Luce, in July, 1940. She died at age 91, on Aug. 12, 2011, in Decatur, Georgia. This union produced four children - three daughters and one son - Edith Noel Luce McPherson (Ronald), Sharon Ann LUCE SHOAF FOREMAN , Catherine Elizabeth Marella-Luce (June), and Michael Donegan Luce (Karen).
Buck was a Professional Golfer in Cuba and Miami, Florida. He met Marjorie in Seguin, Texas while visiting with another Professional Golfer, W.A. "Lefty" Stackhouse of Seguin.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Sharon. and two brothers-in-law, Raleigh Custer and Bernard Larson.
As of Aug. 12, 2011 , two of his daughters and his son survive him. He leaves nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
