SAMUEL JEFFERSON DENNISON
son of Hetty and Samuel Dennison, was born in Baron
county, Kentucky, May 11, in the year of our Lord, 1818, and died Saturday, Nov. 25, 1905, at 11:15 p.m.
At the age of fifteen, in 1833, he volunteered at Nashville, Tenn., to fight the Indians of Mississippi,
Tennessee and Alabama. After the war and an honorable discharge, he drove a four horse team to Mason county, Illinois. During the War of the Rebellion he enlisted in Co. G, One Hundred and First Illinois volunteer infantry, and during the three years of conflict served his country faithfully. He was once taken a prisoner, at Holly Springs, Miss.; a parole of six months, was granted at this time, and he again fought for the "old flag".

Enlisted on 8/14/1862 as a Private.
On 9/2/1862 he mustered into "G" Co. IL 101st Infantry
He was Mustered Out on 6/7/1865 at Bladensburg, MD
