Julie Ann Burkett Morris, 29, of West Terre Haute and formerly of Indianapolis, died as the result of a drowning accident in the Wabash River. She was born Jan. 3, 1976, in Greenfield, the daughter of Joseph Raymond Burkett and Karen Kay Strough Burkett. She was baptized April 11, 1976, at St. Ann Church in Freemont, Ohio. In May 1994, she graduated from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis and graduated from Ivy Tech in May 1998 with an associate degree in business administration. She also received an accounting certificate in August 1998 and an account executive certificate in June 2000 from Radio Advertising Bureau in Irving, Texas. She held professional sales positions with the River Radio and the Tribune-Star. Survivors include her husband, Charles Wayne Morris, whom she married Dec. 12, 2001; her parents, Joseph and Karen Burkett of Indianapolis; her children, Kaylynn Joanna Morris, who was born Oct. 8, 2002, and Zoey Lee Morris, who was born Jan. 17, 2004; stepchildren, Angela Pruitt and her husband, Jamie, April Beasley and her husband, Bobby, Alisha Morris and Cody Morris, all of West Terre Haute, her sister, Lynn Marie Burkett Mistler of Independence, Ky.; and her stepgrandchildren, Devin Pruitt, Trevor Pruitt, Mathew Beasley, Joshua Beasley, Kyle Morris, Curtis England, Lindsey England and Mikalah Stevens. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Mattox-Ryan Funeral Home. Memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Friday in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 6944 E. 46th St., Indianapolis, with the Rev. John Beitans officiating. Private inurnment is in Washington Park East in Indianapolis.
