He was born Nov. 25, 1938, a son of the late Nick and Mary Ella Browder Anderson in Horry County, S.C.
Andy retired from the City of Parkersburg Fire Department after 20 years of service. He also worked 10 years as an EMT for St. Joseph's Hospital. He operated the Blennerhassett Island Craft Village for several years and was a member of the Waccamaw Indian People of South Carolina. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of more than 44 years, Edna McWilliams Anderson; two daughters, Crystal Shultz of Mineral Wells and Tammy Anderson (Mike) Harlow of Fleming, Ohio; two sons, A.J. (Marsha) Anderson and Robin King, all of Parkersburg; one sister, Bernice Cox of South Carolina; two brothers, Carl Hudson of North Carolina and Nick Anderson of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Tristan Conner Anderson, Mikey Harlow and Dustin Harlow; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Pastor Keith Kapple officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at the funeral home.
Military graveside rites will be by American Legion Post 15. The Parkersburg City Fire Department will be escorting Mr. Anderson to his final resting place.
