Mr. McKinzie retired from the Kmart distribution center in Fort Wayne in February 1991 after 40 years of service. He served the U.S. Army in Korea and was a member of Central Christian Church and the American Legion Post 7.
Mr. McKinzie was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Huntington to Robert E. and Almeda Miller McKinzie. He married Joan C. Crooks on Sept. 6, 1953, in Huntington, and his wife survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Rikki McKinzie of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Willard "Bill" McKinzie and John Shane McKinzie, both of Huntington; a daughter, Valli McKinzie of Huntington; two sisters, Isobel Neuer of Huntington and Thelma Harper of Wabash; and six grandchildren.
A sister preceded him in death.
