Elsie Katherine Woolwine was born on April 9, 1886 to Phillip and Margaret Martin Woolwine in Malden, West Virginia. She married Alvin Thomas Bracken, and they became the parents of Aubrey Thomas Bracken (1907-1982), Bessie Lee Cormany (1910-1997) and Kanis Maxwell Bracken (1912-1971). Elsie died on November 22, 1962, four days after being hospitalized following a cerebral hemorrhage and hip fracture resulting from a fall. She was seventy-five years old.
