Michael L. Janko, 50, of Blue Island. Fifth Ward Alderman and Mayor Pro Tem. Beloved husband of Kimberly A. nee Gruszecki, devoted father of Casey and Emma, loving brother of Philip. Memorial donations directed to the Janko Daughters Education Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Blue Island and attended District 130 schools, Eisenhower High School and Moraine Valley Community College. In 2008 Mike was elected as alderman of the Fifth Ward of Blue Island and served as the Chairman of the Municipal Services Committee. He was dedicated to his family, friends and community. Mike volunteered in many organizations including; President of Mother McCauley Father's Club, past Chairman and Board Member of the Blue Island Historical Society, former Board Member and President of St. Walter School, past Board Member of Blue Cap School, Blue Island-Calumet Park Troublemakers Athletic Association, and founder of "Driving Of The Dixie".
